Among other things today, I took a "trip" to shop at Trader Joe's and Costco – two of my favorite retail locations and all in the same day! We bought the normal things in both stores, so nothing special.
Check out this shot of the garden from yesterday – I call it "Paradise in Sammamish." This really is a great place to be and the more I think about it, the more I see myself living in the northwest after graduation.
The yard at my home is lots of work with over an acre to maintain, but very rewarding. I continued the work today by trimming the hedge along the driveway, which extends along the entire driveway and took a long time. Fortunately, I only have to trim this hedge once a year to maintain the nice shape. I will post a photo tomorrow so you can see what I am talking about. Now you have something to look forward to 😉
Klahanie: I had a chance to also hit the gym today and felt great (I guess its the quality sleep I got the past two days…). Stealing a page out of my mom's book of benching, I was able to do 10 reps of 155 pounds today and felt solid doing it. I followed it with cable cross-overs, flys, and some abs.
In the morning I watched the Australia-Brazil World Cup game. I was rooting for the Aussie upset, but it was not to be. They played tough, but ultimately lost to the superior team.
The real sports drama occured this evening. An absolute thriller of an NBA finals game between the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavricks resulted in Miami going up 3-2 after defeating the Mavs in overtime. Dwyane Wade played like Michael Jordan with an amazing fourth quarter and two clutch free throws with 1.9 seconds in overtime to put Miami up. This guy is awesome! Furthermore, Gary Payton had some a couple great shots, one in the final minute of regulation and another sweet shot in overtime. It's nice to see him contributing with huge clutch shots.
