Back in Sammamish

A smooth flight yesterday brought my mom and me home about 20 minutes earlier than expected. To symbolize my return home, I have posted a picture of a pink Rhododendron, the Washington State flower. We have many Rhodies at my house in Sammamish and I took this macro of one flower cluster this morning.

My mom picked Pepe up from Kozy Kennels in the morning – my dog was very happy to see me. Afterwards, we went to stock up on food at my two favorite stores, Trader Joe's and Costco. It was great as usual.

After lunch, I mowed the lawn with our new super mower, the job was much easier than it had been in the past. I finished up in time to watch most of the Detroit-Cleveland NBA game 7. Detroit came through in a big way in the second half putting on a defensive clinic. Tomorrow is going to be amazing with two game 7's in the west.

After the basketball game, I went to the gym with my mom and we worked out together (she basically lifts as much or more than I do). She is a bench press world record holder for her weight class/age division and is a personal trainer. I learned a lot today in the gym – it was nice to try some new exercises and work my muscles in ways I have never before. We started out with shoulders, then triceps, then biceps, and finally some chest on cable cross-overs.

I now have to get ready for my first day at the internship tomorrow. It should be fun. Hopefully the bus transportation will go smoothly. I am going to try and make the 6:43 bus which means I need to get up at 6 am!
