Check out this article about a parent complaining about the showing of “An Inconvenient Truth” in science class. It’s one of those reads where I just shake my head, and the fact that it’s in Seattle suburb (my hometown area) makes it even more unbelievable to me. “An Inconvenient Truth” should be shown in every public science classroom because the next generation needs to recognize that human-induced global warming is real and steps should be taken to reduce our impacts NOW. The movie is based on science and fact, just like the earth is round. An alternative theory should not be part of the education because there is no credible alternative theory. There is no better way to teach kids about human impacts on climate change than through media like “An Inconvenient Truth.” I hope this school board wakes up and realizes the importance of this.
Exercise: A good workout at Arrillaga with focus on back and bicep muscles. I also intended to run today, but laziness along with the rain got in the way. I know, it’s weak that a little bit of rain can dissuade me from running, especially because I am from Seattle where it would rain for weeks in a row. I guess I have been spoiled by the sunny, dry weather here in California. Anyway, it’s not supposed to be a washout tomorrow, so I can’t use rain as an excuse!
