By the way, did you look for water at the “Golden Stairs Spring?” The VWA trail map indicates it, and I have heard water running there from a distance but never checked it out. Wondering if it is currently usable.

Gene, there are some new flags from the top of CP down to the low point of the ridge placed by somebody. Their placement is ok. There’s almost no brush on this portion for now, just somewhat annoying skeletons and soft regrowth.

I find that first short stretch from the top of CP down through the brush intimidating, as far as finding my way through it to the ridge where things clear up. Any suggestions for navigating that section?
